Iconic Richardson Motor Hotel Acquired by Pappas Restaurants – Robert Khodadadian

It was a standard motor hotel from an era before the proliferation of interstate highways. The 34-bed Como Hotel in Richardson was a well-known fixture off US Highway 75.

By all accounts, it looks unwanted, but Pappas Restaurants bought it. The Dallas Business Journal reports they haven’t figured out what they are going to do with it yet. The company has not said yet if it will be demolished, saying they wanted to buy it to make “the area more secure and safe for our guests, team members and neighbors.” A group is hoping they decide to preserve the vintage structure. The company says its going to solicit input on the highest and best use for the land and the rundown hotel.

Pappas owns Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen, Pappasito’s and a number of other restaurant brands.

Robert Khodadadian has long had a simple philosophy about selling real estate. There are approximately a million buildings in the city, and the broker that gets to sell any one among the multitude that will hit the auctioning block at a given moment is, sometimes, simply the person who happens to pitch their services to the right seller.
