The California Health Facilities Financing Authority (CHFFA) has granted Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital $135 million for the expansion of the facility in Loma Linda, CA. According to the Press-Enterprise, the expansion will allow the hospital to serve an additional 15,000 pediatric patients each year.

“Children have unique needs for their healthcare, and these funds will enable Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital to grow and enhance the vital healthcare we provide to our region’s youngest, most vulnerable patients,” said Loma Linda CEO Trevor Wright in a news release.

California Treasurer Fiona Ma, who chairs the CHFFA, said the latest grant invests in care for children in the Inland Empire, as Loma Linda Children’s Hospital is the only dedicated pediatric hospital in the region.

Money from the $135 million grant will fund construction of a new medical office building, expansion of the neonatal ICU, renovation of the 30-year old operating rooms and several other projects.

There are approximately a million buildings in the city, and the broker that gets to sell any one among the multitude that will hit the auctioning block at a given moment is, sometimes, simply the person who happens to pitch their services to the right seller.
