Another South Florida law firm is bulking up.
Greenspoon Marder — one of the top real estate law firms in The Real Deal’s rankings — added a partner in its land use and zoning practice in Fort Lauderdale, according to a press release.
Matthew H. Scott joined the firm from his previous role as a partner with Dunay, Miskel and Backman in Boca Raton, according to LinkedIn. Scott’s practice specializes in development, government relations, zoning and commercial real estate transactions. He will be based out of the Fort Lauderdale office, and work across both Broward and Palm Beach counties.
Other high-profile firms in the tri-county area have also been increasing their headcount this year. In April, Bilzin Sumberg, a Miami-based firm, hired former Miami-Dade Circuit Court judge Michael A. Hanzman. Hanzman oversaw the litigation in the aftermath of the Champlain Towers collapse. In February, Bercow Radell Fernandez Larkin & Tapanes promoted Maritza Haro Salgado to partner and hired associates Alejandro Moreno and Gray Crow. Holland & Knight brought in former Coral Gables City Attorney Miriam Soler Ramos and former Doral city attorney Luis Figueredo in its real estate practice.
Pinnacle brought in Greg Gabriel as the new regional director of acquisition and development, according to a press release. Gabriel will focus on Broward and Palm Beach counties, and will be based out of the firm’s West Palm Beach office, the release shows. He previously worked for the Palm Beach Transportation Planning Agency, according to the release.
Pinnacle is based in Miami and helmed by partners Louis Wolfson III, David Deutch, Timothy Wheat, Coraly Rodriguez and Hugo Pacanins. The firm landed $48 million in financing for an eight-story, 100-unit Hollywood affordable housing project in September.
In Boca Raton, Concierge Property Solutions hired Tricia Schmidt as its director of operations, according to LinkedIn. Schmidt joins the firm from her previous role as general manager at Stiles, a Fort Lauderdale-based commercial real estate firm where she worked for nine years.

Robert Khodadadian has long had a simple philosophy about selling real estate. There are approximately a million buildings in the city, and the broker that gets to sell any one among the multitude that will hit the auctioning block at a given moment is, sometimes, simply the person who happens to pitch their services to the right seller.
