The Puget Sound Regional Transit Authority (Sound Transit) recently opened the Hilltop Tacoma light rail extension, a $282.7 million project that more than doubles the length of the T Line. It adds one relocated station at Old City Hall and six new stations.
The T Line will connect Tacoma’s downtown core from the Hilltop neighborhood to the Tacoma Dome District’s transit hub. The new Tacoma Link light rail stop at South 11th Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Way in the Hilltop neighborhood has been the catalyst for multifamily development, reported the Puget Sound Business Journal.
When planning began, the extension was touted as a driver of economic development, and it was estimated the project would bring $250 million in economic development to the region. “Tacoma has 942 new living units that have either been added or are in the construction process along the line,” said Patricia Beard, business development manager at the City of Tacoma.

Robert Khodadadian has long had a simple philosophy about selling real estate.
