Mortenson Seattle, in partnership with Western Washington University (WWU), Perkins & Will and Coughlin Porter Lundeen will break ground in May on Kaiser Borsari Hall, the region’s first carbon net-neutral collegiate facility, at WWU in Bellingham, WA. The predominantly female-led team, including project executive Jennifer Kim (pictured), will showcase female leadership and strides made to amplify diversity in the AEC industry.

Other team members include Paige Adkinson, Project Manager; Camille Wallace, Project Engineer; Julianne Laue, Director of Building Performance; Mary Roggenbuck, MEP Project Engineer; Susan Clark, STEM Planner; Shanni Hanein, Designer; Alycia Schramm, Interior Designer; Melanie Baron, Designer, Christen Sanders, Structural Project Manager and Kristen Smith, Structural Staff Engineer.

“Getting to work on one of only a handful of projects in the world striving to achieve ILFI certification for Net Zero Energy and Net Zero Carbon is a daunting, but incredible exciting opportunity,” said Adkinson.

Kaiser Borsari Hall at WWU will be a 54,000-square-foot, four-story facility that will support increased student capacity in engineering, science and technology programs.
